Winter and snowshoe hikes on and around Tegernsee Lake

With or without snowshoes

An idyllic winter hike to the Aueralm is fun for both our young and older guests. It is a sporty tour, experienced tobogganists can then go back down to the valley on a sled. The Saurüsselalm is easy to reach from the hotel (ask for opening times at reception), where a rustic hut atmosphere with delicious Bavarian delicacies awaits you. A horse-drawn sleigh tour with Mr. Strillinger is an especially romantic winter experience. You can experience fantastically beautiful snowshoe hikes with Mr. Ostler. You can also rent equipment from him in the near vicinity of the hotel.

Tobogganing on the local Tegernsee Lake mountains

Fast downhill runs

There is a large selection of toboggan runs around Tegernsee Lake. The 6.5 km long natural toboggan run on Wallberg is one of the longest and sportiest in Germany – a really long descent into the valley. Another classic is the toboggan run from the local mountain Neureuth, with a traditional stop at the mountain inn. In January and February, the Kreuth Toboggan Club invites guests and locals to night tobogganing on Fridays from 7 p.m. at the “Klamm” (gorge between Wildbad Kreuth and Bayerwald).

Skiing, ski touring and cross-country skiing

On your skis, get set, go!

The access to the cross-country ski run is only a few meters away from the hotel. Around Tegernsee Lake there are over 100 km of groomed trails for classic cross-country skiers and skaters all the way to the Austrian border, through romantic valleys, past snow-covered treetops and dreamlike fairytale landscapes. Tegernsee is one of the most beautiful regions for cross-country skiing in Upper Bavaria.

For fans of ski touring away from the pistes, there are lonely paths to discover. With breathtaking views, ideal for beginners as well. The Spitzingsee-Sutten/Schliersee ski area, which starts above Rottach-Egern, offers wonderful downhill runs for every alpine skier. There are excellent skiing classes for children and beginners in Ostin and Kreuth. Perfect for the winter holidays!

After a long winter walk in the clear winter air, enjoy a healing bath in the new Iodine Sulphur Bath in Bad Wiessee. A place of rest, health and relaxation with unique medicinal water, the strongest iodine-sulphur springs in Germany.

After all the activities, a break in the Landhaus Spa with wonderfully pampering massages and beauty treatments or relaxing in the relaxation room is particularly beneficial.
