Hiking at Lake Tegernsee

Animierte Grafik Wanderhotel am Tegernsee

Straight from our hotel (the Landhaus am Stein is well suited for hikers) you can endeavour on both easy as well as more challenging hiking tours in the Bavarian mountains. Beautiful alpine pastures as well as longer walks (such as to the “Bauer in der Au” or the “Tegernseer Höhnenweg”) will reward you with a wonderful view. Many paths are also cleared in winter and are a pleasure in the quiet, glittering winter landscape. We’re happy to give you individual recommendations for your hiking tours or guided routes during your stay with us.

Below are just a few hiking trips around Lake Tegernsee you can look forward to. Ask us for more details.

Hike to the new “Saurüsselalm”

Easy 1 hour tour for the entire family. At your destination, a rustic hut atmosphere awaits you with delicious Bavarian delicacies.

Tegernseer Höhenweg: Magnificent views of Lake Tegernsee

A leisurely walk for the whole family. Easy ups and downs on this 6.8 km long hike (just under 2 hours). There’s no better and more peaceful view of the five valley communities around the lake.

Riederstein via Galaun

Classic mountain tour during summer and winter. Easy and pleasant ascent (approx. 1 1/2 hours, descent approx. 1 hour). Forest path, steep with steps towards the summit. Hiking equipment recommended (snow shoes in winter).

Bodenschneid mountain tour

For ambitious hikers. Popular all year round with a fantastic view of Spitzingsee and Tegernsee. Demanding but very varied tour (948 m elevation gain, 5 1/2 hours). Easy to do with good fitness, requires sure-footedness and a head for heights (very slippery after rainfall).

Tegernseer Hütte and
Roß- & Buchstein

For experienced hikers! Magnificent views. Basic climbing skills & head for heights required. Approx. 800 m elevation gain (ascent 2 1/2 hours, descent 2 hours). Some steel safety lines (bypassable) and steep sections.

Schwarzentenn Alm

A day trip from our hotel or about 3 hours from Kreuth. Easy mountain hike for the entire family to an alpine hut with Bavarian delicacies as well as a playground and various animals during Summer. Especially nice as a winter hike with snow shoes.
