Family holidays at Lake Tegernsee

Family holidays in the mountains always include a varied program with some adventures in nature. As a family hotel, the Landhaus am Stein offers lots of fun and relaxation with countless opportunities around Lake Tegernsee. Hikes on adventure trails, climbing on summits (or, on hot days, taking the cable car), jumping into Lake Tegernsee, learning to sail or to play golf, pedal boating, fishing and skiing in winter (or try Germany’s longest toboggan run on Wallberg).

Of course there are many other attractions in the area such as horseback riding in Rottach or Gmund, mountain carts on Spitzingsee, water skiing & wakeboarding in Kiefersfelden as well as trips to the Bavarian royal castles and the Zugspitze. For all seasons, be it an entire holiday or just a family trip for the weekend: the Landhaus am Stein offers its own swimming pool, and in the afternoon there is always a delicious, home-made cake waiting for you.

Children’s golf classes

The practice area of the Tegernsee Golf Club, Wiessee Golf, is only 200 m away from our hotel. There are children’s classes, exercise opportunities and much more. And if you want to see the balls fly further, then you can go straight to the golf club here in Bad Wiessee.

Learn to sail from the age of 7

Learning to sail during the holidays is a great way to start this sport. The classes are open for ages 7-16 and are a lot of fun. You will go home with your own certificate of completion. Several regattas are also held at the yacht club each year. In addition, stand up paddling is also great summer activity, with a SUP rental station on site.

A Multimedia Experience World at Tegernsee

“Tegernsee Phantastisch” is a 2700-square-meter indoor attraction at Tegernsee that houses two diverse play and entertainment worlds. The areas creatively combine knowledge transfer with play and sports. Everything here revolves around Tegernsee. It’s about tradition and homeland, landscape and environment, energy and sports, art and education. Children between the ages of 5 and 14 love it. It is only 4 km away from the Landhaus.

Climbing forest, summer toboggan run

The Oedberg offers lots of fun for the entire family in both summer and winter. During summer, there is a high ropes course with a total of 6 courses for kids from the age of 5 (accompanied by an adult) with a wide variety of obstacles for climbing, hanging, swinging or floating. The hut is great for a stop and right next to the climbing forest there is the summer toboggan run (“Oedbergflizer”), for those of you who prefer to accelerate rather than climb. Everyone can ride here: some families even let grandma and grandpa whizz downhill with them.

Children’s skiing classes

Learning how to ski

In winter, the Oedberg lifts are a fantastic family skiing area with a toboggan run and a skiing school. The traditional places to start your skiing career are the skiing schools at the Ödberg and in Kreuth. Skiing classes take place during the Christmas holidays and also during Carnival week. Of course, individual lessons are also available and there is always a cozy hut right at the slope for a refreshment stop.
